Brands LESS THAN Drug Tariff
Where a branded medicine is dispensed against an NHS Prescription, the reimbursement of that item is calculated according to what the prescriber ordered.
Therefore if the prescriber ordered the item via its generic name and descriptor [and pack size], the prescription will be reimbursed at the generic price for that pack size, which is found in Part VIIIA of the Drug Tariff.
