Regulations will come into effect from October

21st  of July 2014
Schools will be able to hold generic asthma inhalers for emergency use from 1st October. Legislation is being laid before the House of Commons this week which will allow schools to let children have use of an inhaler if they do not have their own inhaler with them.
The announcement follows a consultation on the matter by the MHRA, following a campaign by Stourbridge MP Margot James.
Health minister Jane Ellison told the House that the MHRA has concluded its consultation which received "overwhelming support" and that "we will lay the necessary statutory instrument this week to enable the change to come into force on 1 October."
The DDA will wait to see if this policy has been rural proofed.
